What I Bought At The Local Market And A Few Winter Favorites

What I Bought At The Local Market For A Few Winter Favorites
I don't know about anyone else but Winter is not my favorite season at all! My skin becomes so dry and flaky, my makeup never goes on the right way, and no matter how hard I try I can't get my life together.

That's why this past weekend I went on a mission to find something that would not only soothe my skin but also soothe my lips as well. As many of you may know, I love to wear maroon and berry shades of lipstick and sometimes those colors can leave my lips feeling super dry during this time of year. Ever since the beginning of January, I have been looking for a chapstick that would keep my lips from peeling but I couldn't seem to find anything that works.

That's when my mama kindly suggested to me that I should run to the local market to add a few organic products to my skincare regimen. At first, I was a bit apprehensive but a mother always knows best, so I decided to go ahead and give it a shot.

I decided that I would purchase ONLY what I knew would be beneficial to me and my body in a good way. I didn't want to buy anything that would agitate my skin and that was my biggest concern yet!

Thankfully, I was able to walk around and look at a plethora of things that were good for the skin. I saw lip scrubs, sponges, lotions, oils and so much more. If I'm going, to be honest, I was a bit overwhelmed but once I figured out what I loved the most I knew it was going to be easy to make my purchases for the evening.

What I Wore To The Market
Before I get started on what I purchased, I thought I would pop a little look into what I wore to the market today. When I woke up this morning I already knew that I was going to do a bit of shopping around so that meant I needed to make sure that I dressed up in the most comfortable outfit ever. I don't know about anyone else but this girl has to be able to move around freely when shopping around in the stores.

With this in mind, I decided to keep my outfit casual and flowy. I decided to pair my favorite boots from Tarjay with this bright red floral dress. This dress is probably the most comfortable thing in my closet and I am obsessed with it! Since it has been a bit chillier/warmer than usual, I decided to top this entire look off with one of the go-to jackets that I purchased from Old Navy a few seasons back.

I am really glad that I chose this ensemble and decided not to wear a large coat. As soon as I started to move around in all of those stores I could feel my body temperature start to rise and it probably would have been worse if I layered on more clothes than I actually needed! Anyways, that's what I decided to wear to the market today but let's get on to the important part of this post, shall we?

What I Purchased At The Market
Do you guys remember up above when talked about how dry my lips have been feeling? Welp, apparently this is the chapstick that will stop all of that flaky dryness! It only has three ingredients and is all natural so that means it should not cause any lip irritations! As soon as I purchased it I instantly tried it on and was in love. I could tell by the texture of the chapstick that it was not full of preservatives because it did not feel slippery but it almost felt like an African Soap in a chapstick tube. I already have plans to head back into the city to buy a few more seeming as it was only $3 which is very affordable when it comes to natural lip care products.

And last but not least I purchased this delicious smelling bath bomb for only $5! Look at how huge this thing is?? I decided to go for the Lavender scent because ya know......Lavender is my favorite and I cannot wait to try it! Like the chapstick, this bath bomb is made from all natural ingredients and will not agitate the skin. I was also told that after one soak you should feel the moisture build back up into your skin. As soon as I give this a try I will update you guys on how I feel about it! I am sure I will love it though because Lavender is my all time favorite scent and flavor to date! Anyways, that's all I wanted to share about my little day at the market. Have you guys been adding anything new to your skincare routine lately? If so, share in the comments below :)
