Weekend Fun: Happiness Is The MAJOR Key, OH WOW Donuts And The Art Of Smiling More!
Hello all! I hope all is well! The weekend is over and even though I am kinda bummed about it I must say I am feeling a bit enthusiastic about the current work week! Fun fact, when I started writing this post I thought it was Sunday and my mama quickly reminded me that today was indeed Monday. So there's that! I guess we can all see how the week is going for me so far! Ha! I mean this all in good fun but sometimes I am very serious and I just can't differentiate the two emotions from time to time! #cray

Anyways, I woke up this morning with it on my mind to treat myself to something special! I have not had any good donuts in a while and I decided it was that time to go and get my favorite flavored donut! Birthday cake of course! If you're a long-time reader of this blog then you know I LOVE anything birthday cake/cotton candy/bubble gum/lavender flavored and I just can't ever get enough of it! However, today was the day that I was in the mood for something birthday cake-y and I thoroughly believe I made the best decision for my mental health today! Ha! *Or that's what I like to tell myself*

As I was strolling through the donut shop looking for something to try I realized that I wasn't even paying attention to the fact that the cashier was making small talk and smiling at me! I don't know if I was zoned out or if I was really focusing on my choices but ya girl was totally distracted and I started to feel kinda bad about it! You see, there is so much going on in this world right now so when people take the time to smile at you and make small talk then you should definitely feed off their energy and chat a little bit back. After I realized what I was doing I took a step back from the donuts and engaged in a little bit of small talk and asked what was his favorite donut to try here! Of course, he made a few suggestions and I of course still chose the one that I originally came in there for I am a woman of habit ok? After our little smile talk, I paid for my donut, tipped, and we said our goodbyes as I found a  cozy little spot to sit down and think about my life.

It wasn't until I sat down at my table and opened my bag is when I realized that I was still smiling from our small exchange. Was I not smiling when I arrived? Why am I still smiling? What is happening?

Oh, I know what was happening! Someone had just cheered me up and now I was in an even better mood than before! I forgot how easy it is to transfer a smile to someone without even knowing it. I guess after all of this time of living in Texas I have kinda learned to keep walking, don't make eye contact and move through the city quietly and swiftly! I am not a city girl by any means but I sure have learned the ropes and that's kinda been my life for the past 9 years or so!

But today has really reminded me that I need to smile more and really embrace the people that are around me! I'm not trying to sound too sappy right now but the world could really use a few more happy people if you ask me! That's just my opinion and I am sticking to it! Well, as usual, I just decided to hop on the blog and spill a few little words today. Nothing too special or deep but just something from the heart! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! I know I will! See ya around!

Always Living and Forever Learning,
