Mardi Gras Coffee Is That One Thing That Keeps Me Coming Back Home To Louisiana!
Hey guys and happy Saturday! I am currently up and getting my life together but I thought I'd hop on and share a little recap of the time that I went to Shreveport, Louisiana and ate ALL Mardi gras things!
If you've been a long time reader of my blog then you already know I was born and raised in Shreveport Lousiana! The one thing I truly miss about that place is all of the yummy foods and treats that it has to offer! Like, you seriously cannot go wrong with any place that you eat at!
I honestly feel like the best time to get food from Shreveport is during the Mardi Gras season! I swear they have everything Mardi Gras flavored and I honestly can't get enough of it! One of my FAV things to get when I arrive during this season is my Mardi Gras Iced latte! Yall, when I tell you this stuff is soooo amazingly addicting like you don't even know the HALF of it!
As soon as I arrived at this cute little coffee place I already knew what I wanted to order, I wasn't in the mood for a large array of the things but I knew I wanted my iced latte and my king cake and I was going to be a happy camper!
I was very tempted to order one of these cinnamon rolls BUT you can get these anywhere so I didn't want to waste my money on them (even though I KNEW they probably tasted fire)!
There were soooo many yummy coffee options but I only had ONE on my mind.....
It wasn't long before my coffee was nice and ready to enter my life! As soon as it arrived I was amazed at how yummy It looked! Many people in line before me said it was what they ordered and that it is one of their favorite drinks during this time of year! As a fellow Louisianan, I already knew it was about to be music to my mouth so I didn't waste any time tasting my drink and I can tell you now I was NOT disappointed! It was so yummy that I was upset that I couldn't bring home a bucket of it back to Texas with me! Ha!
Of course, you know I had to get a piece of king cake before I hopped out of the city for the weekend! Growing up, king cake was one of my absolute favorite snacks and I couldn't WAIT until January rolled around when they started serving it more on the regular! When it comes to Louisiana, it's kinda hard to get a bad tasting king cake so it doesn't matter where you buy it, its almost a guarantee that it's going to be amazing!
Of course, you know I had to get ONE MORE picture of my coffee before I fully devoured it! LOL!
AND here is one last little picture of my King Cake! I ordered an extra one to take for the road and I am so glad that I did! Of course, I wasn't on the road for a good hour before I gobbled this one down but it was totally worth it! All in all, this was such a good way to wrap up my little trip to Shreveport Louisiana! I swear I only make trips out there to eat my favorite foods and I'm ok with that! Ha! Anyways, would you guys try mardi gras flavored treats? Let me know in the comments down below!
