A Little Beauty Update
My favorite beauty pieces don't change that often but when they do it normally has something to do with the seasons changing. As a woman that is full of melanin, I can honestly say that my makeup has to be changed every time the seasons changed because of my skin tone. It's really weird because I never knew this was a thing until I entered adulthood and now I make it my mission to update my foundation about twice a year! With that being said, I have a few new beauty favorites that I am loving and would like to share them on the blog today! Anything from lippies to mascara to highlighter I got ya covered!
Any New Foundations?
I have been loving my Mac Studio Fix in the shade NW45! Like I mentioned above, it's probably more of my winter/spring shade but I just love how smooth it makes my face look. I also love the fact that I don't have to wear concealer or anything and it provides full coverage based on the application! It is the perfect foundation and I am very glad to have it in my life!
Any new lipstick shades you're loving?
Actually, I always stick to the same shades but I do like to try different brands! Lately, I have been going to my NYX Lingerie lipsticks because they aren't as drying as the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink! Don't get me wrong, I love both of them but I do feel like NYX will be my go-to lippies for the upcoming spring season!
What is the best primer to use under your makeup?
OMG if you never listen to anything I say again, please let it be known that the Aveeno Serum + Primer is the best! I switched over to this primer two months ago and it has been a game changer in my makeup routine! As a matter of fact, I must say that makeup doesn't apply the same without it! I love to shake it up, add a few drops to the palm of my hands and then rub it all over my face and neck. Instead of letting it sit, I start to apply my foundation immediately so that my makeup can have a very glowy/dewy look. If I could only choose three items in my makeup bag right now, I can guarantee you that my Aveeno Serum + Primer would be at the very top of the list! It's an absolute must-have!

Honestly, I just use a beauty blender for my foundation and my fingers to apply eyeshadow on the inner corners of my eyelids * I know, how dreadful*. But that's what works for me and I don't see a need to change it at the moment! Ha!
Anything new you would like to try on the market?
There are two new things I would like to try and the first being the Fenty lipstick in the shade "MATTEMOISELLE". It just looks so beautiful and I can't wait to get my hands on it. The second item I would like to try is Mascara. Grant it, I don't have a specific brand that I am looking into as of yet BUT I think I am getting tired of applying lashes and am looking for a safe alternative in the meantime. I used to always think that wearing lashes were safer than mascara but I am realizing that applying glue near my eyelids all the time isn't any better so I am on the hunt for something new! Anyways, that's all I have to update you guys in the beauty department! As always, I am constantly looking for ways to be more efficient when it comes to spending money on beauty products. For the most part, anytime that I try something new, I always end up going back to my first loves which is why I'm always a bit reluctant to expand my beauty bag in the first place. However, I must say that the few new things that I have added in the last two months have added sheer bliss to my life. I am always up for anything making my makeup process a bit easier, quicker and cleaner for those early morning routines I have going on lately.
