Weekend Happiness: Red Wall Chats, Easter Weekend Treats, And New Lipsticks!
This weekend was pretty amazing and I can't deny that! I already love the weekends BUT I love them, even more, when they're surrounded around the holidays! There is nothing like sitting around with family and just enjoying each others company after a very busy week! I really do believe that if every weekend was like Easter weekend then the world would be a happier and better place! I know it may sound dramatic but I really do think that that statement is true. There is so much going on in the world and lately, it just seems like things have been getting worse. I'll be the first to admit that sometimes it is difficult to stay positive all the time but once it becomes a practice then the process will become a lot better! That's why I decided to take my Easter weekend and focus on the greatness of God, good food and my family! Sometimes you gotta remember to make time for yourself in the midst of all of life's craziness! I love a good self-care day but I love a good self-care holiday weekend even more! Ha!
Let me just start this post off by saying that for the first time in FOREVER, I went to sunrise service at church and it was amazing! I don't know about anyone else but the earlier I go to church, the better I feel! I just love that after I receive a good word, I literally have the rest of my day to relax, eat and sleep!
Also, yall let's talk about how my mama made the yummiest desserts for Easter?? These were sooo amazing that I know I don't need to eat any more sugar for the rest of the year! Ha! The first cake was a yummy lemon cake with homemade cream cheese frosting! This one was a big hitter in the house and I definitely ate at least three pieces!
The next cake was a yummy oreo cream cake with cream cheesecake frosting and it was the best cake in the world! It was filled with cookies and cream and it made the cake taste that much sweeter!
AND on top of that, she made TWO sweet potato pies!! How amazing is my mama? We don't deserve her at all! Ha!
And to top it off, I had to get two more bottles of the best Easter creamer in the world! I asked International Delight over on twitter if they could extend this creamer to last all of Spring but they said that it would hop away after Easter! Ugh, why do all good things have to come to an end!
And in other news, I had to go lipstick shopping today because I ran out of my favorite lip color! I literally went to church nude lipped and it felt like the most unnatural thing in the whole entire world!
Anyways, since my favorite color was sold out, I settled for a different shade and I absolutely love it! You guys know I love anything in the berry/maroon/red color zone and so this one was right up my alley!
However, as soon as I got home and opened it, I did notice that it has a little hint of purple/pink tones and I'm not sure how I feel about that! I have decided to keep it though because I do want to switch up my makeup looks a bit and starting with a new lipstick is a great way to get started! Anyways, that's my little weekend update! It's Monday again which means it's back to the daily grind of life! It was nice having a little break and now I am ready to get back into the swing of things!
