Dear Coffee, I Love You. That Is All.

Dear Coffee, I Love You. That Is All.
I have been an avid coffee drinker for as long as I can remember. I didn't start drinking it religiously until I was in high school and it seemed to all go downhill from there! I would have my boyfriend walk to Mcdonalds to purchase my favorite coffee and I would down it before 4th period could even get started! Needless to say, I was completely addicted and I could not be stopped! It wasn't long before I started college and my intake of coffee nearly quadrupled in size and intake! I swear to you I was carrying around so much coffee that I started to drink it more than water! But then again it WAS college so can you really blame me? College life was harrrdddd and it was even harder because I was a dance major and everyone know that any type of degree in the Arts requires your own blood, sweat, and tears in order to make it across that stage in four years! I guess you could say, I was kind of an addict! However, these days my coffee habits look a bit different! Most times I only have one cup of coffee a day and when it's from home it's always decaf! Yes, you heard me correctly, DECAF! But before we get all crazy, let me explain!

You see, once I graduated college I no longer needed so much caffeine to keep me sedated throughout the day. As a matter of fact, my days became a lot smoother and I started to notice that it was insane to drink three big cups of coffee when I was experiencing half the workload of life. However, once I started to scale back on coffee I noticed that I started to receive massive migraines, I'm talking horrendous in nature! That is when I decided that this is it, I don't want to suffer like this and I need to take a break from caffeine all around so I did what any insane person would do.....quit...cold....turkey! Boy was that the biggest mistake of my entire life! Not only did I suffer but I actually cried! Ha! I missed coffee so much but I had to make it through this detox if I wanted to take back control of my life! I needed to stay committed and I was very determined to make this happen because I was tired of relying on coffee to be productive and I was sick of it giving me such massive migraines that I couldn't even live a healthy and happy lifestyle without my daily intake!
But one day something miraculous happened! I woke up and didn't crave a cup of coffee nor did I have a headache! It was a blessing sent from the Lord and I could not have been happier about it! I was so proud of myself because I beat this obstacle in my life. I know compared to the grand scheme of things this may seem like such a silly milestone but I think every accomplishment is important no matter how big or small! Now I can live my life without the stress of always needing caffeine every hour on the hour. However, I will say that I still have a decaf cup about 4 times a week because it just helps me start the morning off better but that's pretty much it. I also like to treat myself to a little coffee house a few times a month because I can never get enough of my lavender flavored coffee as well! Ha! When I am out and about I always order caffeinated coffee because I haven't found a great decaf cafe yet! I am still on the hunt for that but until then, I make my decaf from home and take it with me on-the-go to help me navigate the day better! Other than that, ya girl has been smooth sailing and I couldn't be happier! Anyways, do you guys have an addiction to coffee? Tell me all about it in the comments down below! See ya tomorrow!
