A Little Adventure (and Some Cookies) in My Last Trimester
The last trimester has a funny way of changing your definition of an outing.
These days, getting out of the house can feel like an accomplishment all by itself. Between the growing belly, the tiredness, and the fact that pretty much everything takes just a little more effort, I’ve found myself appreciating the simple moments more than ever.
So, instead of staying home, I decided to treat myself to a little outing—and, of course, some cookies.
There was something so nice about getting dressed, leaving the house, and giving myself a change of scenery. Nothing elaborate. No big plans. Just getting out, enjoying the day, and doing something that made me happy.
And then came the best part: the cookies.
Pregnancy is definitely a time when I’ve learned to embrace the little treats. There’s something especially satisfying about sitting down with a delicious cookie and thinking, Yep, I absolutely deserve this.
It wasn’t really about the cookies themselves. It was about giving myself permission to slow down, enjoy something sweet, and make an ordinary day feel a little more special.
The last trimester can come with plenty of discomfort and anticipation as the countdown to meeting baby gets closer. But moments like this remind me that I don’t have to wait for a big occasion to enjoy myself. Sometimes, a simple trip out of the house and a favorite treat are enough to lift my mood.
So here’s to getting out when you can, enjoying the little things, and treating yourself along the way.
And if that treat happens to be a cookie—or two—I say go for it. 🍪
Right now, I’m soaking up these last few weeks, one little adventure and one sweet treat at a time.
